Please find attached our latest Barangaroo Station monthly update, which provides information about upcoming construction activities in April 2020.
Key activities to note this month includes:
  • removing tunnelling support infrastructure by the foreshore - this includes the spoil shed, treatment plants and underground pipes
  • some jack-hammering to remove concrete in the underground crossover cavern (7am - 10pm Monday to Sundays)
  • out-of-hours concrete deliveries and pours inside the Barangaroo Station
Removal of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) finishes next week
Removal of TBMs from the Barangaroo Station site is expected to finish by Thursday 9 April, site conditions permitting. Work will continue 24/7 this weekend and next week to remove the largest TBM pieces on oversized trucks under police escort. The trucks will leave the site via the main gates and travel southbound on Hickson Road. The trucks are expected to leave the site each night at about 11pm, site conditions permitting.
These oversized trucks must comply with NSW road regulations and travel at night when there is less traffic. There may be some temporary traffic impacts on Hickson Road, including single lane closures during these truck movements.
Work will also continue 24/7 next week to pour concrete for the underground crossover cavern and new Barangaroo Station. The work involves the use of hand tools, concrete trucks, loaders, pumps and cranes. This work is not expected to cause high noise at nearby properties.
